Abstract:
A drive mechanism for a jig saw comprises a reciprocating plate (119) for supporting a jig saw blade (114) adjacent a lower edge thereof and guide bearings (122, 123) for supporting the reciprocating plate (119) adjacent upper corner portions thereof. The reciprocating plate (119) is engaged by a pin (113) on gear 11 such that rotary motion of the gear (111) about an axis causes reciprocating motion of the reciprocating plate (119).
