Abstract:
Provided is a driving assistance device that is safe and convenient in a situation where reverse reproduction is not available, for such a case as passing an oncoming car in a narrow road. When a vehicle is moving forward, a driver's driving operations and information about a peripheral obstacle are stored. At that time, information from a front sensor 13 (or front camera 23) and that from a rear sensor 14 are integrated to discriminate the type of an object (still object, moving object) and store the same. After backing-up assistance starts, a peripheral obstacle from the rear sensor 14 and the stored peripheral obstacle are compared, and according to the comparison results, whether to implement backing-up assistance based on the stored driving operation is determined.
