Abstract:
A driving recorder 10 is equipped with: a recording control unit 18 for recording vehicle information on a first recording medium 46; a deterioration detection unit 26 for detecting deterioration of the first recording medium 46; a backup processing unit 28 for executing a backup process for transmitting at least a portion of the vehicle information recorded on the first recording medium 46 to a second recording medium 48, in response to the detection of deterioration of the first recording medium 46; a stopping possibility determination unit 30 for determining whether recording of vehicle information to the first recording medium 46 can be stopped on the basis of the vehicle information; and an initialization processing unit 32 for initializing the first recording medium 46 when the backup process has been completed and it has been determined that the recording of vehicle information can be stopped.
