Abstract:

This drum-type washing machine is provided with: a drum drive unit (4) that rotationally drives a drum (3); and a control unit (30) that receives output from a grime sensor (18), which, as a condition sensor for sensing the condition of laundry inside the drum, senses grime on laundry inside the drum, and performs sequential control of steps related to washing, rinsing and discharging water. The washing step comprises: an agitation step in which the drum (3) is rotated at a low speed such that the laundry does not stick inside the drum (3); and a spin washing step in which the drum (3) is rotated at high speed such that the laundry (3) sticks to the inner peripheral wall of the drum (3), and the washing water is drained from the laundry due to a centrifugal force. The control unit (30) changes the rotational speed of the drum in the spin washing step according to the output from the grime sensor (18).
