Abstract:
An eddy current retarder having a twist vibration reduction function comprises a stator (11), an upstream rotor (12) for connecting a vehicle gearbox and a downstream rotor (13) for connecting a front end transmission shaft of a rear axle. A vibration reduction buffer device for connecting the front end transmission shaft of the rear axle is disposed on the downstream rotor (13). During operation, a twist counter torque generated instantaneously acts on the vibration reduction buffer device, and a torque impact produced instantaneously is reduced through buffer and attenuation of the vibration reduction buffer device, so as to achieve purposes of impact and vibration reduction. In addition, when the retarder does not brake, the vibration reduction buffer device is connected in series in a transmission system, facilitating attenuation of a torque fluctuation generated by the angle between an engine and shaft space and improving the NVH performance of the transmission system. In conclusion, the eddy current retarder can reduce vibration and noise caused by the retarder to vehicles.
