Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device capable of suppressing a high-order mode while maintaining favorable characteristics of a main mode. An elastic wave device 1 comprising: a material layer 2 having Euler angles (φ1, θ1, ψ1) and elastic constants at the Euler angles (φ1, θ1, ψ1) indicated by formula (1); a piezoelectric body 3 having mutually facing first and second main surfaces, being directly or indirectly laminated on the material layer 2, having Euler angles (φ1, θ1, ψ1), and having elastic constants at the Euler angles (φ1, θ1, ψ1) indicated by formula (1); and an IDT electrode 4 provided on at least either the first main surface 3a or the second main surface 3b of the piezoelectric body 3 and having a wavelength λ determined by electrode finger pitch. The product of C56 and C56 is a positive value and the absolute value for C56 for the material layer 2 is greater than the absolute value for C56 for the piezoelectric body 3.
