Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device in which transverse modes can be effectively suppressed.　This elastic wave device 1 comprises a piezoelectric substrate 2 and IDT electrodes 3A to 3C. The IDT electrodes 3A to 3C include a first pitch section E in which the electrode finger pitch is relatively wide, and a second pitch section F in which the electrode finger pitch is relatively narrow. A center region B is positioned at the center in the direction in which a plurality of electrode fingers extend, and first and second edge regions Ca, Cb are positioned at the two sides of the center region B. A plurality of mass addition films are provided on the first and second edge regions Ca, Cb. The plurality of mass addition films include a plurality of first mass addition films 9a arranged in the first pitch section E, and a plurality of second mass addition films 9b arranged in the second pitch section F. The length along the elastic wave propagation direction is greater in the first mass addition films 9a than in the second mass addition films 9b.
