Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device having excellent surge resistance and power durability. An elastic wave device 10 of the present invention is provided with: a support member 13 having a recess 13a; a piezoelectric layer 16 provided on the support member 13 so as to cover the recess 13a, and having a first main surface 16a and a second main surface 16b opposing each other; a first electrode finger 19A (first electrode) provided on the first main surface 16a of the piezoelectric layer 16; and a second electrode finger 19B (second electrode) provided on the second main surface 16b of the piezoelectric layer 16 and connected to a potential different from the first electrode finger 19A. The recess 13a of the support member 13 and the piezoelectric layer 16 enclose a hollow portion. The second electrode finger 19B is disposed in the hollow portion. The first electrode finger 19A and the second electrode finger 19B do not overlap in plan view but oppose each other when viewed in plan.
