Abstract:
An elastic wave element having improved resonance characteristics and filter characteristics. At least one IDT electrode (3) is formed on a piezoelectric substrate IDT electrodes (3) being contiguously to each other in the propagating direction of elastic wave. The elastic wave element comprises first and second electrode fingers (31, 32) with protrusions (13, 14) being formed on the side edge of at least one electrode finger (32) out of first and second electrode fingers (31, 32), wherein the positions of the protrusions (13, 14) along the length direction of the electrode finger are substantially equal to the position of a gap (33) provided at the distal end of the other electrode finger (31) out of first and second electrode fingers along the length direction of the electrode finger.
