Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a technique which makes it possible to equalize, as far as possible, the protective performance and sound-proofing performance around an electric cable. An electric cable with a protecting member is provided with: an electric cable; and a protecting member which is formed using a material comprising a sheet-like nonwoven member, and which is wound around the electric cable to cover the electric cable. The protecting member includes a first part which is formed concomitant with heating of a portion of the nonwoven member, and a second part of the nonwoven member that is more flexible than the first part. The first part and the second part are both distributed in the circumferential direction of the electric cable over the entire circumference of the electric cable, and are both distributed over the entire protecting member in the longitudinal direction of the electric cable.
