Abstract:
This electric compressor comprises a housing for a motor that is a motive power source for a compressor unit, a rotor that rotates within the motor housing, a coil spring that urges the rotor in the direction of a rotational axis, a bearing that is interposed between the motor housing and the motor and that has an inner race supported on the rotor and an outer race abutted against an abutting part of the motor housing due to the urging of the coil spring, and a stopper that prevents the rotor from being displaced beyond a prescribed limit displacement amount against the urging of the coil spring and that allows displacement of the rotor short of the limit displacement amount, the length of the deformed coil spring being equal to or greater than the contact height when the rotor has been displaced to the limit displacement amount.
