Abstract:
Provided is an electric connector assembly for connecting electric wires to a circuit board, which can provide a sufficient mechanical strength to a plug housing while the height can be reduced. A plug housing (20) in an electric connector assembly (1) has a thin planar portion (21) which extends in the horizontal direction. A plug contact (30) is provided with a substantially planar reinforcing portion (31) extending in the horizontal direction, said reinforcing portion being insert-molded in the planar portion (21), to reinforce the planar portion (21); a planar electric wire connecting portion (32) to which an electric wire (W) is soldered, said electric wire connecting portion extending from the reinforcing portion (31) along the surface of the planar portion (21); and a contact portion (33) with which a receptacle contact (60) is brought into contact. The receptacle contact (60) is provided with contact arms (63) extending from a base portion (62) in the substantially horizontal direction, and a substrate connecting portion (64) which extends from the base portion (62) and is soldered to a circuit board (PCB).
