Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide an electric connector which can surely regulate a receiving
position of a connecting small board so that no positional shift is generated
between each electrical contact of the small board and a prescribed contact on
a connector side. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A rib-shaped positioning protrusion
(130) of a socket (100) is provided with a lower section (130b) having a uniform
thickness and an upper section (130a) having a portion thicker than the lower
section. The both sections are connected by a taper-shaped middle section (130c)
which continuously changes in bilateral symmetry. When the width of a notch (13)
of the small board (10) to be inserted into the socket (100) is substantially equal
to the thickness of the lower section (130b) of the positioning protrusion (130),
the small board (10) is positioned by the lower section (130b). When the width
of the notch (13) is larger than the thickness of the lower section (130b) of the
positioning protrusion (130) and is smaller than the thickness of the upper section
(130a), the small board (10) is positioned by the middle section (130c).
