Provided are an electric drive apparatus and an electric power steering apparatus that enhance heat dissipation of a first circuit board and a second circuit board while ensuring transmission of control signals. The electric drive apparatus comprises a motor and an electronic control device that controls rotation of the motor. The electronic control device includes: a first circuit board; a second circuit board having a control circuit for controlling current to be supplied to a transistor of the first circuit board; a second housing that houses the second circuit board and that has a first through-hole penetrating same in the axial direction; a lid for covering the second housing; and an inter-substrate connector. The inter-substrate connector connects the second circuit board disposed on an opposite-load side of the second housing and a first circuit board disposed on a load side of the second housing to each other, and is disposed in the first through-hole.
