Abstract:
Provided is an electric parking brake device comprising: an electric actuator capable of, during reverse rotation of a forwardly/reversely rotatable electric motor, applying a load to the electric motor; a current detecting means that detects an energizing current to the electric motor; and a control unit that controls operation of the electric motor in such a way that reverse operation of the electric motor is stopped when the slope of the current value is greater than or equal to a predetermined value during reverse operation of the electric motor. Since the start of the reverse operation of the electric motor (41), after a lapse of a set period of time in which an inrush current is expected to occur during reverse operation of the electric motor (41), the control unit (C) stops reverse operation of the electric motor (41) on the basis of the slope of a current value based on the current value detected by the current detecting means (84). Thus, the operation of the electric motor can be stopped promptly even when a load is applied to the electric motor during a period in which the electric motor should be basically at no load upon release of a parking brake state.
