Title:
ELECTRIC POWER CONVERTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/098481
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an electric power converting device with which earth fault detection can be performed in a short time period, using an inexpensive configuration. In step S220, the electric power converting device according to the present invention compares the level of the difference between the output values of low pass filters 40 and 41 with the level of a threshold -E. If there is an earth fault in a W-phase at a time when the U-phase and V-phase lower arm IGBTs are ON and the W-phase upper arm IGBT is ON, then the difference between the output values of the low pass filters 40 and 41 reduces. In step S241, the level of the absolute value of the difference between a U-phase current value iu and a U-phase current command value iu' is compared with the level of a threshold F. A value that is lower than the threshold is assessed to be normal, and a value that is greater than the threshold results from a U-phase earth fault, and is assessed to be abnormal. In step S242, the level of the absolute value of the difference between a V-phase current value iv and a command value iv' is compared with the level of the threshold F. A value that is lower than the threshold is assessed to be normal, and a value that is greater than the threshold results from a V-phase earth fault, and is assessed to be abnormal.
