Abstract:
The electric power steering device is equipped with: an input shaft; an output shaft; a torsion bar which is disposed on the inner diameter side of the input shaft and the output shaft in a state in which the input shaft and the output shaft are coaxially connected to each other; and a torque detection sleeve which is disposed on the outer diameter side of a torque detection encoder part, the rear part of which is externally fitted and fixed to a fitting part. A nitride layer is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the output shaft at least at the part where the torque detection encoder part is formed.
