Abstract:

[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device capable of switching control smoothly without torque steer by gradually changing the command values for the control torque of torque control and for position/velocity control during a fade process. [Solution] An electric power steering device having a torque sensor that detects the steering torque and a motor control device that controls a motor which applies assist torque for assisting steering to a steering system of a vehicle, said electric power steering device being equipped with a function with which the control method for the motor is switched, in accordance with a prescribed switching trigger, between a torque control method in which the motor output torque is controlled and a position/velocity control method in which the steering angle of the steering wheel is controlled. Furthermore, the fade process time from the torque control to the position/velocity control of the automatic steering and the fade process time from the position/velocity control to the torque control are established separately.
