Abstract:
Provided is an electric power steering device capable of providing precise steering assistance to a driver in the form of active steering assistance. The electric power steering device is provided with: a steering torque sensor (3) for detecting steering torque (T); a current command value calculation unit (61) for calculating a current command value (Iref) on the basis of the steering torque (T); an electric motor (13) for generating a steering auxiliary torque; a motor control unit (24) for controlling driving of the electric motor (13) on the basis of the current command value (Iref); a navigation controller (72) and a GPS receiver (73) for detecting vehicle position information; and an operation assistance processing unit (23) for storing, into a map database (71), the steering torque (T) detected by the steering torque sensor (3) in association with vehicle position information obtained at the time of the detection of the steering torque (T), and for performing operation assistance processing for assisting the driver in operating a steering wheel (1) on the basis of a past steering torque (Tp) corresponding to current position information.
