Abstract:
An electrically powered vehicle such as an electric bicycle (1) is provided with: a drive motor (30), which drives the wheels via an electric power-transmitting mechanism (for example, a transmission (40)); a mechanical oil pump (61) that is driven mechanically thereby and supplies oil to the electric power-transmitting mechanism; and an electrically powered oil pump (62) that supplies oil to the electric power-transmitting mechanism. Prior to starting the operation of the stopped drive motor (30) under prescribed conditions, operation of the electrically powered oil pump (62) is started by a controller (90), thereby preventing exhaustion of oil in the electric power-transmitting mechanism when starting from standstill.
