Abstract:
A lithium secondary battery is rapidly charged to a full charge state within one minute, is capable of being used especially under low temperature as vehicle usage, and repeatedly absorbs and releases lithium ions while an electrode group is impregnated with or immersed in an organic electrolyte, said electrode group being formed by winding or stacking electrodes consisting of a positive electrode and a negative electrode with a separator interposed therebetween. In electrodes for the lithium secondary battery, the surfaces of positive and negative electrode active materials have, as a surface layer, at least one phase selected from a graphene phase and an amorphous phase, and an activated carbon layer having a specific surface of 1000 m2/g or more is formed on the surfaces of the layers of the positive and negative electrode active materials.
