The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrolyte for a photoelectric conversion element, said electrolyte being capable of achieving excellent moisture resistance. This electrolyte for a photoelectric conversion element contains an organic salt compound (A) and a layered clay mineral (B). The organic salt compound (A) contains an organic salt compound (a1), which has a specific cation, in an amount of more than 50% by mass in terms of cations.
