Abstract:

Provided are an electrolyte for a rechargeable lithium battery and a rechargeable lithium battery including same, the electrolyte comprising: a non-aqueous organic solvent; a lithium salt; and an additive, wherein the additive is a composition comprising a first compound and a second compound, the first compound being a cesium imide compound represented by the following chemical formula 1, the second compound being a crown ether compound represented by the following chemical formula 2. The details of chemical formulas 1 and 2 are as described in the specification.
