Abstract:
Provided is an electrolytic capacitor for 160V or above medium/high voltage use, the electrolytic capacitor suppressing the total amount of gas generated inside the electrolytic capacitor. This electrolytic capacitor comprises: anode foil on which a dielectric oxide film is formed; and a cathode body. The cathode body includes: cathode foil made of a valve action metal; and a carbon layer formed on the cathode foil. The capacitances of the anode foil and the cathode body are adjusted such that the ratio of X, which is the capacitance per unit area of the anode foil, to Y, which is the capacitance per the same unit area of the cathode body, is 1 to 10 or more.
