Abstract:
Provided is a balance with a draft shield having a door that opens and closes smoothly both manually and automatically. Provided is an electronic balance (1) with a draft shield comprising: a balance body (30) having a weighing mechanism connected to a weighing pan (31); a draft shield (10) having a door (11) which can be opened and closed by sliding, the draft shield (10) that covers the weighing pan (31) to form a weighing chamber (6); and an actuator (60) for opening and closing the door (11), wherein the actuator (60) has a double-acting air cylinder (40) having two ports (44, 46) serving as air supply ports, an air pump (62) connected to the two ports (44, 46), two valves (66) interposed between the air pump (62) and the two ports (44, 467) to connect/disconnect the ports (44, 46) to/from the atmosphere, and a control device (34) that controls the two valves (66) so as to connect the two ports (44, 46) to the atmosphere when the air pump (62) is stopped. Switching between automatic opening/closing and manual opening/closing can be performed without any special mechanism, and in both cases, the door (11) of the draft shield (10) can be opened and closed smoothly.
