Abstract:
In the present invention, a temperature change in an electronic clinical thermometer is detected, and on the basis of the detected temperature change, determination is made whether the electronic clinical thermometer which is already powered ON and in a clinical temperature measuring mode is in a state in which a clinical temperature should be measured according to the clinical temperature measuring mode. As a result of such determination, in a case where it is determined that the electronic clinical thermometer is not in a state in which a clinical temperature should be measured according to the clinical temperature measuring mode, the clinical temperature measuring mode is shifted to a low current consumption mode in which operations are carried out so as to consume less power than in the clinical temperature measuring mode.
