Abstract:
This electronic device is provided with: a transmitting antenna that transmits a transmission wave; a plurality of receiving antennas that receive a reflected wave that is the reflected transmission wave; and a signal processing unit that detects an object, by the subspace method, on the basis of a transmission signal transmitted as the transmission wave and a reception signal received as the reflected wave. The signal processing unit estimates the direction-of-arrival of the reflected wave on the basis of, with respect to the locations on the complex plane of solutions to the algebraic-equation root–MUSIC polynomial (hereinafter termed "RMP solutions") in the root–MUSIC method, the RMP solutions that satisfy a first requirement regarding the distances between a unit circle and the RMP solutions in the complex plane, and a second requirement regarding distances or arguments, in the complex plane, of at least two RMP solutions that are adjacent, among the RMP solutions.
