A method for controlling an electronic device and an electronic device are disclosed. The disclosed method for controlling an electronic device, according to one embodiment, may comprise the steps of: receiving a user's input by means of a second screen on which a user interface is updated independent of a first screen; and controlling an action, which is performed in an electronic device and displayed on the first screen, on the basis of the user's input.
