An embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a method for sharing information with an external device by an electronic device. The method for sharing information with an external device by an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the operations of: displaying a preview image obtained via a camera; receiving a first input to select a region of interest in the preview image; identifying an object related to the region of interest in the preview image on the basis of the first input; receiving a second input to share an image of the object; and transmitting the image of the object and information related to the object to an external device on the basis of the second input.
