Abstract:
An electrostatic atomization device comprises: an electric discharge electrode (2) having a front end section (2a) and a base end section (2b); a cooling section (1) for cooling the electric discharge electrode (2); a high-voltage application section (4) for generating electrically charged water particles by atomizing condensed water (M), which is held by the electric discharge electrode (2), by causing the front end section (2a) of the electric discharge electrode (2) to discharge electricity; and a heat capacity adjustment member (5, 21) provided to the vicinity of the base end section (2b) of the electric discharge electrode (2) and capable of exchanging heat with the electric discharge electrode (2) through the condensed water (M) held by the electric discharge electrode (2).
