Abstract:
An electrostatic separating device that uses electrostatic force to separate conductive particles from a raw material having the conductive particles and insulating particles mixed therein, said separating device comprising: a container having formed therein a raw material layer that is made from the raw material; a gas dispersing plate disposed at the bottom of the raw material layer; at least one vibrator disposed in the same plane as the gas dispersing plate or in the raw material layer above the gas dispersing plate; a fluidizing gas supplying device for supplying a fluidizing gas that is introduced into the raw material layer from the bottom of the container and raises the raw material layer via the gas dispersing plate; an upper electrode disposed above the raw material layer; a lower electrode disposed in the same plane as the gas dispersing plate or in the raw material layer above the gas dispersing plate; a power source device that uses one of the upper electrode and the lower electrode as a negative electrode and the other as a positive electrode, and applies a voltage between the upper electrode and the lower electrode so as to create an electric field between said electrodes; and a capturing device for capturing conductive particles that jump from the surface of the raw material layer toward the upper electrode.
