Abstract:
An electrostatic separation method according to the present invention includes: generating an electric field between electrodes by applying a voltage between an upper electrode disposed above a raw material layer, and a lower electrode disposed at the bottom or inside of the raw material layer; charging only conductive particles to the same polarity as the lower electrode by causing the conductive particles and lower electrode to come in to contact in the raw material layer by causing the raw material layer to flow; causing the same polarity as the upper electrode to appear, by dielectric polarization, on a downward transport surface comprising a non-conductor of a conveyor belt passing through a capture region, and by setting above the raw material layer and below the upper electrode as the capture region; selectively separating, by electrostatic force, conductive particles charged from the surface of the raw material layer, and adhering said particles to the transport surface of the conveyor belt; and separating and recovering conductive particles from the transport surface that has moved out of the electric field.
