Abstract:
An ink jet device charges ink (2) in a nozzle (4) and ejects the ink (2) from an ink ejection hole (4b) toward a recording medium (8) by a first electric field reaching the recording medium (8) from the nozzle (4). The ink jet device comprises an ink capturing device (13) having an ink capturing part (14) placed close to the nozzle (4) and capturing a substance ejected from the nozzle (4). Ink (2) or a substance produced by varying viscosity of the ink (2) is ejected from the nozzle (4) and a voltage is applied between the nozzle (4) and the ink capturing part (14) in order to generate a second electric field for sucking the ejected matter to the ink capturing part. In this way, in the arrangement for ejecting fluid by utilizing an electrostatic force, clogging of an ejection head can be quickly removed at an arbitrary position and ejection reliability can be enhanced by suppressing initial variation in ejection.
