Abstract:
This elevator controller is provided with: a rotary encoder (38) attached to a governor (37); a safety controller (42) into which a pulse signal from the rotary encoder (38) is fed, and which calculates the position and/or speed data for an elevator car (10); a hoist brake (22) for stopping the motion of the elevator car (10); a brake power source switching device for controlling the supply of power to the hoist brake (22); a drive system power source switch device for controlling the supply of power to an electric motor (21) from an AC power source (25); a power source (25) for supplying operating power to the brake power source switch device and the drive system switch device; and a brake release device for releasing the hoist brake (22) during malfunction. The safety controller (42) monitors the speed of the elevator car (10) based on the pulse signal from the rotary encoder (38) in the event of a brake release when the elevator malfunctions.
