Abstract:
An elevator device in which braking force to be applied to an elevator car is generated when supply of electric power to a brake coil of a brake device is interrupted and the generation of the braking force applied to the elevator car is stopped when electric power is supplied to the brake coil. A brake controlling device has a first brake controlling means for controlling braking force applied to the elevator car by regulating the amount of supply of electric power to the brake coil, and also has a second brake controlling means capable of forcibly interrupting supply of electric power to the brake coil. The second brake controlling means has computer means for individually determining, based on information from a specific detecting means, whether or not an elevator has an abnormality and performing, when having determined that the elevator has an abnormality, control for interrupting supply of electric power to the brake coil.
