Abstract:
A video display device is provided with an effective region determining means (110), a scene change detecting means (120), a video conversion processing means (130), and a video display means (200). The effective region determining means (110) recognizes an inputted video signal and determines the aspect ratio of the effective region. The scene change detecting means (120) detects a moment when a series of videos having high correlation in time are switched. The video conversion processing means (130) converts the inputted video signal, based on the effective region aspect ratio determined by the effective region determining means (110)and scene change information detected by the scene change detecting means (120), and the converted video signal is outputted to the video display means (200). The video display means (200) controls so as to display the outputted video signal outputted from the video conversion processing means (130) in the display region.
