Abstract:
Disclosed is a rate matching method. The method comprises: a network device determining a transmission code rate R, wherein R = K / M, K is the length of an information bit, M is the length of a target code, and K and M are positive integers; if the transmission code rate R is greater than or equal to a first code rate threshold, the network device determining to use a shortening mode for a bit sequence of length N, and if the transmission code rate R is less than the first code rate threshold, the network device determining to use a puncturing mode for the bit sequence of length N, wherein N is the length of a mother code, and N is a positive integer; and the network device using a polar code Polar to encode the bit sequence of length N so as to obtain a first encoded sequence of length N, and the network device shortening or puncturing the first encoded sequence to obtain a second encoded sequence of length M. Also provided is a rate matching device corresponding to the method. By means of the method and device, a puncturing/shortening mode can be flexibly selected so as to overcome performance loss caused during a puncturing/shortening process.
