Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an encoding technique that enables efficient encoding of input acoustic signals regardless of the characteristics thereof and that provides decoded acoustic signals that a listener is less likely to perceive as unnatural. Provided is an encoding method with which input acoustic signals are encoded, per frame constituting a time segment lasting a predetermined period, by an encoding process set from among multiple encoding processes in the frequency domain, wherein, when at least one of the magnitude of the energy of high-frequency components in an input acoustic signal of the preceding frame and the magnitude of the energy of high-frequency components in an input acoustic signal of the current frame is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold, a setting unit 380 makes it possible to set, as the encoding process to be used for the current frame, an encoding process that differs from the encoding process used for the preceding frame.
