Abstract:

In order to keep the diameter dimension of the tip of an endoscope small while making the direction of view of the endoscope variable and obtain an endoscopic image with a good image quality, provided is an endoscope optical system (1) equipped with, in order from the object side, a negative lens (3) which collects light incident along an incident light axis (C1); a first prism (5) which deflects and emits the light collected by the negative lens (3) in a direction along a first axis line (C2) approximately orthogonal to the incident light axis (C1); a second prism (6) which has a reflection surface for deflecting the light emitted from the first prism (5) in the direction of a second axis line (C3) approximately orthogonal to the first axis line (C2) and is disposed to face the first prism (5); and a positive lens (8) which collects the light emitted from the second prism (6), wherein the negative lens (3) and the first prism (5) being provided to be rotatable about the first axis line (C2) with respect to the second prism (6).
