Abstract:
Provided are an endoscope system, a processor device, an operation method, and a distance measurement device, whereby observation distance can be accurately measured even if a pigment or residue, etc., are present within a specimen. The endoscope system (10) comprises a light source device (14), an endoscope (12), and an observation distance measurement unit (63). The light source device (14) irradiates a signal light having a wavelength band that is absorbed by hemoglobin in the specimen, on to the specimen. The endoscope (12) has an image sensor (48) that captures images of the specimen, by using the reflected signal light, and outputs an image signal. The observation distance measurement unit (63) measures the observation distance on the basis of the image signal.
