Abstract:
This endoscope system comprises: a light source unit that emits excitation light for exciting a fluorescent drug and illumination light; an imaging unit that captures an image of fluorescent light that is generated in response to emission of the excitation light on an object in a body cavity of a subject to which the fluorescence drug has been administered, and captures an image of reflected light that is generated in response to emission of the illumination light to the subject; and a combined image generation unit that is configured to produce an observation image in which a first image that is an image corresponding to the reflected light captured by the imaging unit and a second image that is an image of a site in the subject where the fluorescent light was generated are combined in a periodic pixel arrangement without overlapping each other.
