Abstract:
Provided is an energy absorption member that generates little recoil upon being subjected to impact and is capable of steadily absorbing impact by letting impact-derived destruction progress uniformly. This energy absorption member 21 is composed of a hollow cylindrical fiber-reinforced composite material comprising: a reinforcement fiber 22 having a tensile strength S (GPa), a tensile elastic modulus M (GPa), and an elongation percentage E (%) that satisfy formula (1); and a curable resin composition impregnating the reinforcement fiber 22. The fiber-reinforced composite material includes the reinforcement fiber 22 at a content percentage by volume of 30-80%.
