Abstract:

Provided is an error detection device which detects an error of a subject to be monitored which outputs a reset signal within a prescribed time from starting the activation of said subject to be monitored, said error detection device comprising: a first timer for which a first time-out time is set which is longer than the prescribed time and shorter than the activation time of the subject to be monitored, and which resets a first counter and commences keeping time at the start of the activation of the subject to be monitored or on the input of the reset signal, and if the first time-out time has elapsed, outputs a first time-out signal to the subject to be monitored, reactivates the subject to be monitored, and resets the first counter; a second timer for which a second time-out time is set which is longer than the activation time of the subject to be monitored, and which resets a second counter and commences keeping time at the start of the activation of the subject to be monitored, and if the second time-out time has elapsed, outputs a second time-out signal; and a supply source which supplies power to the subject to be monitored, and interrupts the power supply to the subject to be monitored if the second time-out signal is inputted thereto.
