Abstract:
An ESD protection device, having: an element body; a first discharge electrode and a second discharge electrode provided to the element body and disposed so as to face each other in the layering direction; and a discharge assistance electrode provided between the first discharge electrode and the second discharge electrode so as to electrically connect the first discharge electrode and the second discharge electrode to each other. The element body is provided, in at least a part of the surroundings of the outer surface of the discharge assistance electrode, with a cavity in which the first discharge electrode, the second discharge electrode, and a region of the outer surface of the discharge assistance electrode extending from the first discharge electrode to the second discharge electrode are exposed.
