Title:
EXHAUST EMISSION PURIFICATION SYSTEM OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/048666
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is an exhaust emission purification system of an internal combustion engine equipped with an NSR catalyst and an SCR wherein deterioration of emission can be prevented by recovering deterioration in performance due to SCR poisoning effectively. An exhaust emission purification system of an internal combustion engine (10) capable of lean burn operation comprises an NSR catalyst (16) arranged in the exhaust passage (12) of the internal combustion engine (10), an SCR (18) arranged in the downstream of the NSR catalyst (16), a poisoning detection means for detecting sulfur poisoning of the SCR (18), and a temperature-raising means for raising the floor temperature of the SCR (18) when sulfur poisoning of the SCR (18) is detected by the poisoning detection means. The temperature-raising means has bank control, stoichiometric control, and rich spike control, and selects the control to be carried out according to the operating condition of the internal combustion engine (10).
