Description:
EXHAUST-GAS DISCHARGING DEVICE

The invention relates to a device for discharging the exhaust gases, meant for discharging exhaust gases and for attenuating the noise caused by the discharge systems of the internal combustion engines.

A device for discharging the exhaust gases is known, presented in the utility model CN201367931 Y, which has an outer housing which forms a resonance chamber, within which there are provided a perforated pipe, as well as some compression and sound insulation plates between which some resonance chambers and expansion chambers are formed.

There is also known a device for discharging the exhaust gases, presented in the paper "Theory, calculation and construction of the engines for road motor vehicles", Berthold Grunwald, EDP, Bucuresti, 1980, pages 629-630, which is provided with a housing wherein there are provided some filters, arranged in parallel, having the shape of spherical domes.

The device for discharging the exhaust gases, as claimed by the invention, has a central pipe for discharging the flue gases of an internal combustion engine, said pipe being provided, at one end, with a flange for coupling to the discharge conduit of the internal combustion engine, and at the other end with a discharge flaring along which there are provided some circular discharge orifices which have, on either sides, some circular protection shields, on the circular orifices axis there being provided some circular damping filters, the circular shields as well as the circular damping filters having the shape of spherical domes.

The device for discharging the exhaust gases, as claimed by the invention, has the following advantages:

- simple construction;

- reduction of the polluting emissions;

- increased engine power and substantially reducing the noise generated by the exhaust gases. There is given hereinafter an embodiment of the invention, in connection also with Figs.1 and 2 which represent:

Fig. 1 , a longitudinal section through the device for discharging the exhaust gases;

Fig. 2, a cross-section through the device for discharging the exhaust gases, with a plane A-A, presented in Fig. 1.

Fig. 3, a longitudinal section through the device for discharging the exhaust gases, in a second embodiment of the invention;

Fig. 4, a longitudinal section through the device for discharging the exhaust gases, in a third embodiment of the invention;

Fig. 5, a longitudinal section through the device for discharging the exhaust gases, in a fourth embodiment of the invention;

Fig. 6, a cross-section through the device for discharging the exhaust gases, with a plane B-B, presented in Fig. 3.

The device for discharging the exhaust gases, as claimed by the invention, is provided with a central pipe 1 for discharging the flue gases of an internal combustion engine, not represented in the drawing, which is coupled in a manner known per se, such as, for example, some clamps and screws, to a discharge pipe of the internal combustion engine, also not represented in the drawing.

The central pipe 1 for discharging the flue gases is provided, at one end with a flange a for coupling to the discharge pipe of an internal combustion engine, and at the other end with a discharge flaring b. Alongside of the central discharge pipe 1 there are provided some discharge orifices c.

On both sides of the discharge orifices c are provided some protection shields d and e.

On the central pipe 1 for discharging the flue gases, on the axis of the circular orifices c there are provided some circular damping filters f having the role to dissipate the acoustic energy as heat by the internal friction of the flue gas layers, as well as by the friction with the walls thereof. The circular shields d and e as well as the circular damping filters f are in the shape of spherical domes.

In a second embodiment of the invention, on the central pipe 1 , between the circular shields d and e, there are provided some circular, equidistant slots g, h and i.

The circular damping filters f, are tangentially placed to the circular shields d.

In a third embodiment of the invention the circular damping filters f are tangentially placed to the circular shields e.

In a fourth embodiment of the invention, the circular damping filters f are placed on the center of the circular, equidistant slots g, h and i.
