Abstract:

Provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst with which sufficient OSC capacity of an oxygen-occluding material is exhibited, and the OSC amount is improved. According to the present invention, provided is an exhaust gas purification catalyst 10 which is provided with: a wall-flow-type substrate; first catalyst layers 261; and second catalyst layers 262. The first catalyst layers 261 are provided inside partition walls 26, and in areas in contact with entry-side cells 24. The second catalyst layers 262 are provided inside the partition walls 26, and in areas in contact with exit-side cells 25. The first catalyst layers 261 and the second catalyst layers 262 include an oxygen-occluding material. The ratio (D1/D2) of the coat density D1 of the first catalyst layers 261 to the coat density D2 of the second catalyst layers 262 is 1.1-1.8.
