Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: an exhaust gas purification system which is capable of purifying an exhaust gas without being loaded with a noble metal, and which is capable of maintaining the exhaust gas purification performance even at high temperatures; a catalyst; and an exhaust gas purification method. [Solution] A foamed metal catalyst (3) which is formed of a transition metal element other than a platinum group element, said metal element having a porosity of 80% or more, and which reduces NOx by being in contact with an exhaust gas that is at 230°C or more and has a predetermined hydrogen concentration (2%) or more is disposed in an exhaust gas passage (2) of an internal combustion engine (1) that discharges the exhaust gas.
