Abstract:

An exhaust muffler disposed close to the cylinder of a multipurpose engine. An exhaust muffler (M) for a multipurpose engine, comprising: a muffler body (15) connected to the cylinder (3) of the multipurpose engine (E) through an exhaust pipe (10) and disposed adjacent to the cylinder (3); a partition member (19) for partitioning the inside of the muffler body (15) into a first sound deadening chamber (16) connecting to the exhaust pipe (10) and a second sound deadening chamber (17) connecting to the exhaust outlet (35) of the muffler body (15); and an exhaust cooling pipe (31) communicating between the first sound deadening chamber (16) and the second sound deadening chamber (17) and exposed to the outside of the muffler body (15). When moving from the first sound deadening chamber (16) to the second sound deadening chamber (17), the exhaust gas passes through the exhaust cooling pipe (31). By this, the exhaust gas is effectively cooled to enhance a sound deadening effect due to a reduction in the pressure of the exhaust gas.
