Abstract:
An exhaust purifying device for an internal combustion engine having a supercharger can suitably simultaneously achieve both the prevention of excessive rise in back pressure and the assurance of exhaust gas emission performance. The exhaust purifying device has a turbo-supercharger (16) having a turbine (16a) provided in an exhaust path (14) and operated by exhaust energy of the engine (10), a first front-stage catalyst (18) and a second front-stage catalyst (20) arranged in the exhaust path (14) in that order from the upstream side, a first exhaust bypass path (24) bypassing the turbine (16a), a second exhaust bypass path (26) bypassing the turbine (16a) and the first front-stage catalyst (18), and a first wastegate valve (28) and a second wastegate valve (30) for respectively opening and closing the first exhaust bypass path (24) and the second exhaust bypass path (26).
